**Icestar padded stealthily from a shadow near to Silverpaw. He chuckled gently and nodded his approval.** Good climbing.. I haven't seen a cat able to leap so from a tree after a finch. **He grins as the young cat walks clear into a tree.** But perhaps you should be careful not to run into them (the trees)..

**silvertail lets out a small laugh, following Icestar's words. she moves back, then looks into his ice-blue eyes** I thank you for the complament. & I will use it wisely. **she then looks back at the tree** especially by not running into one of these....
**her ears suddenly twitch up. she hears little russles. she then sniffs teh air, letting her smell glands do what they must do. she then carefull whispers to Icestar** I smell & hear a squirel...... be right back....
**she carefully, gets into the crouch, eyeing any sudden movement(s). she looks... & smells, then finally, she scences teh squirel behind 2 trees ahead of her. she looks at it carefully, ten walks...slowly. making not a sound..... once she got close enough(abotu 2 1/2 feet away), she then prepared to make teh pounce, having her chest touch teh sandy ground. she then eyes teh squirel carefully, though it scenced her.... Silvertail tries not to move, but then... the squirel moves, Silvertail then dashes to teh squirel and....** POUNCE!!!
**Silvertail swipes the squirel's side & keeps it to the ground with her other paw. she does a quick bite; & covers her prey with soil, leaves & very small rocks. she gets up proudly, then sniffs the air for more smells**

**Spotchpaw walks along the little path she's on. She looks, and smells, for anything that might be huntible (If that's even a word). The bush russles and Spotchpaw quickley hides** Come on out, lets see what ya are. **A rabbit hops out and Spotchpaw crouches ready to pounce. The rabbit catches wind of Spotchpaw and hops away** Oh no ya don't! **Spotchpaw chases the rabbit in the direction that Icestar and Silvertail are...**

**Icestar nodded at Silvertail.** I think you have the hang of things now.. I'll leave you be. Continue your hunt, though, at this point, there shouldn't be much prey left.. We are scarce this season as ever. **He shook his head, but then gave Silvertail one last encouraging smile and slipped off into a shadow, disappearing almost noiselessly into a cluster of scraggly undergrowth. His ears twitched and he lowered instinctively as the leader sensed the rapid heart-beat of Spotchpaw's rabbit. His acute senses detected that it wasn't far off to the right of him. He muttered beneath his breath.** Perhaps I should drop in on Spotchpaw and see how he's faring..

*Amitapaw crouched low on her own hunt, listening intently, her mouth slightly open to enhance her smell. a movement catches her eye, a streak of silver, the smell of a RiverClan cat* that must be Icestar *she purred quietly to herself* i don't wnat to interrupt her catch *Amitapaw slings off in the opposite direction, her senses pricked for the slightest difference in her surroundings. there a little bit off she her the soft clicking of a squirrels teeth on his nut. crouching low to the ground Amitapaw even sets her wait on her hind legs and waits. she creeps forward making sure she makes no noise. the squirrel doesn't sense her until to late. POUNCE!! a quick bite in the neck and the squirrel is on his way to the fresh-kill pile. Amitapaw picks up her kill and heads back towards camp*
[OOC: i'm sorry if i interupted anything important but i really wanted to test out my RPing skills (what little there are)]

**Spotchpaw chases the rabbit a little farther** This is hopless. I need quick thinking. **Spotchpaw looks up at a tree** Aha! **She climbs up it and runs on the limbs above the rabbit. She waits for the rabbit to rest for a moment, and POUNCE! She lands on the rabbit, sinking her teeth into it's throat** Gotcha!! Ha ha!

*Whisperfur crouches down at the sound of a mouse by a near-by tree. Not a single whisker twitches as she moves softly forward, feeling every muscle and speck of earth beneith her. The mouse's ears prick as she moves her hindlegs to be ready to spring. Before it can react she leaps. POUNCE! She stands up, the dead mouse clasped in her jaws and a smile on her face as she holds it up proudly.*

**Icestar grinned and padded silently from the covert where he had been watching Spotchpaw.** Good. Unorthodox, but you still cought your prey. Just consider this, though, next time - what if your rabbit had dashed into its hole as it commonly does when spooked? You would not have had a chance to catch it then. So just try to get down the basics for now, then work on the fancy stuff. **The handsome tom gave her an encouraging smile.** Don't bother burying your prise. I want you to head back to camp. Pick up your prey as you go. **Without further word, the solemn leader stalked off and disappeared in the shadows that lay about the woods. He moved quickly and spotted crouched Whisperpaw and the unsuspecting mouse. He watch with pride as she downed the mouse gracefully.** Well done, Whisperpaw! Very good. Now bury your prey till you can return to it, so that we can continue hunting without hinderance or chance of losing the body to another.

**Spotchpaw picks up the rabbit and heads towards her mouse. When she gets to the presice location, she drops the rabbit and digs up the mouse** Ok now. How am I gonna get both of these back to the camp? **She looks around for something to pull her catch in and sees a hunk of bark** Hmmm. That will do. **She grabs the bark and lays her meat on it. She struggles to pull it to he camp. When she reaches the freshkill pile, she drops her catches in the pile and waits for the others**

*Having dropped off her earlier prey Amitapaw came back to the hunting ground, an urge to hunt had befallen her. as she gets to the clearing she begins to slow down and think, become more aware. her paws make no sound on the dusty earth and she lowers herself into the tall grasses. the scent of a rabbit is present in her nostrils. moving forward slowly she feels the rabbit on her left* just a little bit closer, c'mon *she whispers to herself. the rabbit got wind of her and started to move away. frantically Amitapaw jumps towards the rabbit. it runs and Amitapaw runs after it. and then it was gone!* oh, no! *Amitapaw comes up to where it should have been* no doubt it had a hole near here. brilliant! *having giving up on her rabbit she turns to find other prey*

**Spotchpaw decides to go back and hunt some more. She opens up her sent glands, and listens for anything moving** Hmmm. Nothin'. Maybe I'll go a little farther in. **She walks father into the forest, still keeping her senses up** Hmmm. Maybe if I get high enough, I can use smell, hearing, and sight. **She walks up to the base of a huge tree. Climbing up, she finds a sturgy branch that's close to the ground, but high enough to spot things. She looks around and sees nothing at first, but hears something. Something like a chattering noise. Like when her mother would scold her, in a way. She looks around to find the sorse of the noise, but sees nothing on the ground. That's it! It's not on the ground, but above her in the trees. Barely moving her head, so the object will not notice her looking at it and run, she peers up along the tree and sees a squirrel. She must have invaded it's territory or something, cause it chatters away at her, as if scolding her for being so close** Maybe if I go around the tree, it will think I'm leaving. **She thinks. She stands up and climbs around the tree, but climbs high than the squirrel, and around again. She waits for it to go onto a branch, before pouncing. She lands on the tree branch, but the squirrel darts onto the next tree over** Oh darn it. If only we could climb as well as them. **She climbs down to her branch, the one before she heard the squirrel and waits**

OOC: Okay. I would suggest that everyone stop posting about climbing trees. It is not natural for a cat in the wild to go climbing trees constantly. On the other hand, keep up the creativity. I'm not trying to quench that.. Also keep in mind that food is scarce. So just use common judgement on how much is too much. Oh, and when I ask a cat to return to camp, please follow my order till I give you further instruction. Some cats have to remain at the camp for safty reasons. Also, if the entire camp is about in the woods, all the prey will be scared off. Besides, as I have mentioned, I am pretty pack on the sched.; so if I need someone to take a break for a moment to allow me to catch up, then I ask that you respect my judgment. Okay. Now that that is over, time for encouragement. Amitapaw, you are doing very well. Your RPing is improving greatly. Ashpaw, good job! You are progressing well, too. But try taking just a little more time to make certain that your spacing is correct. Perhaps just a touch more of description would also help a lot. But other than those minor things, very good! Spotchpaw. You are also doing well because you are using your creativity. But, as I said, please concentrate your hunting on the ground for now. I would suggest that you try enjoy the elements around you; the trees, the soil, the boulders, the underbrush. You seem to have a good handle on describing things, so try experimenting with that (of course, you don't want to post a full novel or anything, but a little never hurt anyone, right?). ;D I don't have time to post in character 'cause I took so long out of character, but try taking some of my advice and heed it well. OOC: Alright. I'll try that.
BIC: **It accurs to Spotchpaw, that Icestar wanted her to stay at the camp.** Why don't I ever think before I act? **She climbs down and heads back to camp.** Prolly better I wasn't on the tree. It hurts sometimes. **She reaches the camp, finds a sunny spot she can still watch everything, and lays down in a comfy position. She allows herself to doze a bit, but jerks up every once in awhile. And then dozes again.**
