*Saltpaw whispers back*Oh that's fine, probably nothing heard it anyways.*Saltpaw thinks for a while and says,* You know, I think that some of the fruits and stuff growing on the trees and bushes look tasty. Do you think so? Saltpaw imagines herself coming back to the camp with a pouch of moss full of fruits and berries, but hen she blinks back to reality realizing she nearly walked into a thorn bush. Backing away carefully she heres a whistle and looks up to see a low flying bird about to land. She motions to Breezepaw to stay quite and low. The bird lands and Saltpaw stalks up to it and then pounces. Her claws scrape the side of it wing breaking it but the bird jumps and runs as fast as it can (which isn't very fast). Saltpaw overpowers it and kills it though, burying it underneath a small bush. She sits down ad cleans her face waiting for Breezepaw to catch up.

*Breezepaw pads to Saltpaw calmly, now being more careful with her steps. She thanks StarClan for their another catch and hopes they could catch something else as easily as that bird. She looks at the withered apple, which hangs from the old, gnarled russet apple tree. The apprentice shakes hear head, her eyes wide from disbelief. She can't think of any cat, who would eat a rotten apple, which isn't ripe anymore.*
The summer is gone long time ago and that apple doesn't look very delicious to me. Maybe we should catch some proper prey if we can find any. Let's try, shall we?
*Breezepaw crouches to hunting crouch and starts approaching forqrds, listening to the sounds of the almost silent woodland. Barely daring to breath, the apprentice measures her every step very, very carefully like she was on the ice of the lake and it could break at any moment. Do not do any stupid things, avoid dead twigs... The breath burns her chest and a choking felling spreads through her throat, but she keeps her promise to be careful and doesn't gasp before Breezepaw feels dizzy from a lack of breathing. Then she parts her mouth and sucks a quick gasp of fresh air. At the same moment happens three things. Breezepaw's heart misses one beat as she hears rustle of a squirrel, who is looking for its winter stores at the base of the nearby oak. The instinct tells Breezepaw to jump and she does so. A moment after she hears a tiny screech of her prey before it is muffled forever. Burying it and imprinting the place in her mind, Breezepaw turns around to look, where Saltpaw is.*

Oooh! A squirrel. Those are hard to catch! *Saltpaw trots up from behind the bush she was burying her bird under and remarks about her squirrel.* Well even if we don't get any more this has been a succesful hunting trip hasn't it? *She is so busy talking that she barely hears the question.* Oh, yes we should go further. We might be able to get a couple of voles and if we go to a river we can find some fish, maybe. How 'bout it? OOC: Heheh. I almost forgot this. Fish, you mean?
*Breezepaw sits down wearily and stifles a yawn, which tries to escape from her throat. The sudden gentle breeze blows through the forest and despite her warm, thich fur, the apprentice shivers slightly. A thought of juicy, delicious fish is very tempting, but she doubts can they catch any, though Saltpaw is quite optimistic. Sighing, Breezepaw gets up and shakes her head.*
I don't really know... We have caught some prey and I feel tired a bit... But don't let it spoil your fun, if you want to continue hunting, you can do so.

Okay. Well I'll come back to camp when I get umm... *Pauses to think* one fish. 'Kay? Hopefully I'll be back soon. See ya later! * Saltpaw skips off in the direction of the river and nearly runs into several trees and scares away several birds in the process. Not letting this discourage her she stops at the river and stares into the water, waiting for a plump fish to swim by near the surface. She thought about how many little fish and tadpoles went by and wondered whether frogs would taste good. She decided to try it sometime and nearly fell into the water because she had been distracted by her thoughts. She shook herself back into reality and saw a large plump fish swim by. She lunged for it but to late. She fell into a deep pool in the middle and when she finally got out she was sopping wet and cold. She shook herself dry and went back to staring into the river. A couple of minutes later she was about to give up and turn back.* Man is this boring. *Just then a medium sized fish swam by and she lunged for it. She just barely managed to catch it and fell into the river again with the fish still wriggling in her paws she sprinted up the bank again nearly dropping the fish. Swiftly she bit it where she thought the neck might be and then she turned back to find the other prey she had buried.*

*Sappaw was hunting in the forest a little ways from the rest, being shy around other apprentices. She headed toward a deep, calm area of the river, a place overgrown with bushes, making it difficult for any but the sleekest, smallest cats to get to it, but full of many large and juicy fish. She spent awhile getting to it, trying to get through the almost impenetrable bushes quietly and quickly. When finally reaching the bank of the river through it, she saw multiple fish big enough to feed two apprentices swimming lazily in the pool. She carefully crept to the edge, positioning herself so her shadow was hidden in the dark shadow of a large tree, which shaded almost the entire width of the river. Standing right on the edge, she held her paw lifted, preparing to strike whenever a fish came too near. One did, and rather soon. A monster-sized fish swam slowly under the tree, resting in the cool shadow after doing fishy things in the sunnier part of the river. Sappaw tensed, then struck, digging her claws into the scaly body and whipping it out again, dragging the fish onto the bank. He didn't want to be eaten yet though, and struggled viciously with the lithwe apprentice, almost escaping into the water, but held back till his movements slowed and finally stopped, wearied from fighting with no way to breathe. Sappaw dragged its massive body through the bushes, struggling to get it through the bushes in one piece.*

*Saltpaw stares at Sappaw dragging the huge fish through the bushes, wishing she was the one who had caught it.* Wow, that's huge, Sappaw! *She padded forward careful not to break any twigs, and alert any prey that they might see. She stopped and listened carefully, hoping to hear any signs of prey. When she didn't hear anything, she walked forward again and slipped past Sappaw and squeezed through the bushes to the pool where Sappaw had caught her fish. She got caught by the brambles several times but eventually got through to the pool. She crept into the shadow of the tree, and stuck her paw out over the water waiting for a fish to swim to close. One of the smaller fish swam into the shadow of the tree next to the bank, and Saltpaw shot her paw out but missed the fish and nearly fell in. She knew that no fish would swim there for several minutes, so she relaxed a little. All the fish had disappeared but Saltpaw knew they would come out again soon. In several minutes several large fish started appearing and She tensed and slowly stuck her paw out again. Soon a large fish swam towards her and she held her breath hoping she wouldn't miss this time. When the fish got close enough she struck out with her claws, snaring the fish and pulling it in. The fish flipped about wildly and tried to get back into the water but Saltpaw kept pulling and eventually pulled it in next to her. She dragged it back through the bushes and got more thorns stuck in her fur. But she had caught a giant fish and that was enough to make her happy.*

*Willowpaw stares in amazement as Saltpaw catches the huge fish.* Wow... *the young cats whispers.* I wish that I could swim that well. *She looks back into the dense forest behind her and then slowly pads out of the ferns where she had been hiding before, being rather shy about the other apprentices, who obviously knew more than she does. Suddenly Willowpaw hears a subtle rustling in the reeds near the water. She fixes her emerald eyed stare at the movement and carefully lowers her body to the ground and tiptoed slowly to the reeds making sure to not to make too much noise, trying hard to copy the way she had seen her mother stalk up on prey. Willowpaw crouches, waiting for the exact right moment to jump. Then POUNCE! Willowpaw catches the little vole between her paws and kills it. She transfers it to her mouth and pads proudly with her tail waving like a flag to the base of a willow tree, where she buries the tiny vole for later. She then catches sight of a butterfly and chases after it happily, instantly forgetting about catching prey.*

*Saltpaw goggles at Willowpaw chasing a butterfly and hopes that she isn't scaring all the prey. She shakes herself then runs after Willowpaw.* Willowpaw! You're going to scare all the prey! Oh dear. *Saltpaw taps Willowpaws back and tries to get her attention.* Willowpaw? You're going to scare the prey. * Just then, Saltpaw notices some bushes wiggling around and lowers her haunches, getting ready to spring on the mouse wriggling around in the bushes. Just when she's about to spring she trips over a root and lands on her nose with a thud. She sits up, rubbing her nose and glaring after the mouses tail disappearing into a hole.* Ouch! Stupid root!
