*Stickpaw sighs, his breathing ragged. He pants and feels the dryness in his mouth, wishing he had some water. His muscles twitch and he grimaces, staring up at Fallenclaw as if the answer to his sticky predicament was written on her. Then he sees the narrow chance. With a great heave he exerts all his power into his legs and kicks up hard at his mentor's belly.*
OOC: Is that better, Fallenclaw?

** Snowstar nods to her apprentice.** We'll go over the rest in a bit, but for now...** A mischievious twinkle lights in her eyes as she crouches, her tail whipping back and forth.** Attack me!

**Torquepaw lunges at his leader. He swipes his paw, hoping to get her.**

** Snowstar leaps back, seriousness back in her expression.** Don't be so obvious. Try again!** No hesitation....that's good. She thought as Snowstar crouches again, waiting for her apprentice to attack.**

**Torquepaw obserbvs all the possible moves. He finally makes up his mind and fakes to be trying to hit her head, hoping she'll buy it. He suddenly tries to go at her feet.**

OOC: Much better, Stickpaw!
BIC: Uuff!! **Fallenclaw expected the move, so attempted to propel herself backwards with her paws to relieve some of the impact. It worked; nevertheless, she was still buffeted powerfully by his strong kick and was thrown from him. Rolling neatly and rising smoothly once she reached the ground, Fallenclaw rested on her rump and lick her paw idly. She dipped her head.** Good fight, Stickpaw.. Although, fighting skills are not all there is to being a warrior, so we'll go over some of the basics. What is most important to a warrior? What does it really mean to be a warrior?

*Stickpaw sits on his haunches, catching his breath. Clumps of brown tabby fur stick out untidily as he thinks the question over in his mind. The words form on his mouth, with hardly any hesitation.* Being a warrior means to fight for your Clan with all your life. It means to always honor the Warrior Code, and to be loyal. It means to believe in StarClan. What is most important to a warrior is the furthering of his/her Clan, and their Clan alone.

(( Very nice move, though you could've worded it differently. But for now, I really don't want to be picky.))
** The white leader watches Torquepaw, following his eyes darting to and fro to find an opening. When he finally attacks, she jumps out of the way to land in a crouch, tail flicking playfully. She stands, meowing,** Good thought, but be quick about it. If you do that in battle, you'd be dead before you could say StarClan.** She waits patiently for his next attack.**

**With no hesitation, the greyish yellow cat races around Snowstar, hoping to distract her, before pouncing.**

**The serene she-cat smiled and her eye flashed pride. She meowed gently and nodded contently.** Yes.. That is correct. All too often now young apprentices will respond confidently, "Being one of the best fighters out there!" "Being a good hunter and tactition!". Indeed.. These are great skills to have when one is a warrior, but that is not what makes him(/her). What makes a warrior is when he/she is truly devoted to what is most important to them - family, clan, justice, StarClan. It is the spirit, the drive.. **Fallenclaw blinked and gazed at her apprentice, solemnly pondering her own words to herself.** Tell me, Stickpaw. What does it mean - in your mind - to be a Medicine Cat? What should be expected typically from a good Medicine Cat?

*Stickpaw thinks hard on this one. He searches deep inside himself, thinking the question over in his mind, until he finds the words he was looking for.* To be a Medicine Cat means to always help and protect your Clan. You must be ready to heal them. A Medicine Cat must believe in StarClan, over all. What should be expected from a Medicine Cat is wisdom, and the knowledge of herbs that is required from one.

** Listening to the apprentice makes the leader smile, but it also distracts her more then Torquepaw racing around her. When he pounces, she turns around quickly, ending up on her back with her apprentice on top. Without hesitation she kicks with her hind legs, hoping to get him off.**

**Fallenclaw in inhaled and exhaled, a smile of relief spreading across her fine features slowly as she did thus.** Then you are already a Medicine Cat to me.. No title can make a warrior, leader, or medicine cat. A leader who is only who they are because they have "star" at the end of their name are no less than either a greedy tyrant, idiotic fool, or useless coward. Likewise, a Medicine Cat or warrior must have his, or her, heart in the right place.. It truly is the spirit that makes such creatures. **Her smile broke out into a larger grin; and the she-cat turned her gaze to Snowstar as she was tackled by her apprentice. The warrioress wished to convey her feelings to the leader, but decided that she was busy at the moment.**

*Riggatpaw watches his mentor. He notices that even though he is a warrior he still can learn. He soon turns his eyes away and watches Fallenclaw and Squirrelpaw training. He watches what they are doing, how the aprprentice answers.*
