OOC: Ok, by now you all know the drill. We are diminished greatly, but people are coming back, so we're going to go ahead and have a Gathering. The leaders report (with Kempfur, I'll pretend I haven't gone to Moonstone yet. Savvy? ^^), cats chatter and exchange news, and then we leave.
ShadowClan posts in black. WindClan posts in Brown. RiverClan posts in Beige. ThunderClan posts in green.
And....begin!

OOC: I'm getting there! ;D Yes, Goldenheart, you may.
BIC:
*A cool breeze swept across the moor, angling down the WindClan slope. The strong-shouldered tom glanced down, then back; his Clan was behind him, what was left of it, anyways. After the famine that swept the forest, all four Clans were depleted immensly. Some thought that it was Rowanstar dieing that brought it on; no one knew for sure why, though. Kempfur, the deputy of WindClan, stared down the grassy hill at the Gathering place. The Great Rock preceded over all of it, gazing down with the eyes of StarClan. With a flick of his tail, he jumped over the edge and skidded down just as a new scent flooded his nostrils: ShadowClan!*
*The white she-cat stared over the side with eyes that held fear. The famine had hit ShadowClan hardest of all; the wet conditions of their camp, plus the famine, wiped out most of the Clan. Now the once strong Snowstar was thing and ragged, with only a few warriors and apprentices left. She slowly stepped over the side, her Clan behind her. Her and Kempfur exchanged greetings, but they didn't comment.*

Mrrow! *Rainpaw could not check the surprised meow that passed his lips as he stumbled down the ravine behind Kempfur, his Clan's Deputy. The newly-named apprentice was lank and swift, but his long limbs were still uncoordinated. In his eagerness he had been made uncareful, and so had tripped upon bounding over the ridge. Halfway down the slope, he halted his slide, digging his claws in and crouching low to the ground. Gulping in embarassment, he warily chose his pawsteps 'til he reached the bottom, where he stood, twitching and shuffling his paws awkwardly.* Err... right. Sorry.
*Mumbling an apology to no one in particular, his thoughts quickly moved on to the gathering cats around him. He scanned the clearing with his bright amber gaze, ears pricked, jaws parted to draw in the air. Because of his recent apprenticeship, he was still learning the scents of the Clans. WindClan he knew, of course, it being his birthClan. ShadowClan he recognized after a few moments of pondering. He could just faintly smell a warmer scent -- ThunderClan? Or he thought he could smell it, but it could've been imagination. His mind had been known to wander before.
As the tortoiseshell-and-white tom stood on the edge of the clearing, he watched Kempfur, his Clan's Deputy. The strong tom was greeting a stunning but dangerous-looking white she-cat, and with a start Rainpaw realized who this must be -- Snowstar, the leader of ShadowClan. What other cat in the Forest had a pelt so snow-white, eyes so sharp? And her scent had a tang to it that the young apprentice now recognized as ShadowClan -- although it was sharper than he recalled... Fear-scent? No, it couldn't be. Such a great leader as Snowstar wouldn't be afraid of a Gathering. Unless he'd mistaken her.* Entirely possible. *Commenting aloud but still to himself, the apprentice sat, his tail curved comfortably about him, and continued to watch, hoping that some other Clan would bring an Apprentice, so he'd have someone to talk to.*

Post by Lionclaw, Dawnheart, Sablepaw on Mar 13, 2007 18:58:16 GMT -5
((OOC: I suppose I'll just have to lead ThunderClan in. **shakes head in mock irritation** First though...))
**A spotted she-cat enters Fourtrees behind the WindClan deputy. Dawnheart, the medicine cat of WindClan, sighs as she looks at the pitiful remnants of both WindClan and ShadowClan. The famine had hit WindClan hard, and Dawnheart had been hard put to save the cats that she had. At least her apprentice, his sister, and some of the other apprentices had survived. She looks around. Where had Aquapaw and Mosspaw gotten to? Shrugging, she turns to see Kempfur going to greet the ShadowClan leader, Snowstar. She also notices a small dark brown apprentice following the white leader into the hollow.**
**Sablepaw, the dark brown apprentice in question, is indeed following Snowstar. Since the famine, the young she-cat has been jumpy. She was sick for a while, and the medicine cat was sure she'd die, but she pulled through. However, the dark apprentice had been scared by her near death experience, and had taken to keeping close older warriors. Even though it's her Clan leader, Sablepaw feels safe within close proximity to a warrior. She knows that she'll get over this phase, but for now... Then she spots an apprentice from WindClan. Purring at the knowledge that she wouldn't be the only apprentice here, she pads up to him.** Hi. You're from WindClan, right? I'm Sablepaw of ShadowClan.
**The cool air reaches to nostrils of the cat who's ThunderClan scent had reached Rainpaw. Lionclaw, the deputy of ThunderClan, was leading her Clan to the Gathering. The smell of approaching Newleaf is in the air, and she can scent it on the breeze. Just as she can scent WindClan and ShadowClan. Purring she flicks her tail, the signal for ThunderClan to follow her into the hollow. Once in Fourtrees, she pads up to Kempfur and Snowsatr. Not knowing that Kempfur is not leader yet, but knowing that Rowanstar is dead, she adresses the both of them as leaders.** Greetings, Kempstar and Rowanstar. I hope you are well.

Are there any other medicine cats here? **He asks the she-cat shyly, after ahving nodded respectfully to the other leaders.** **Mosspaw follows Rainpaw and her brother, with more control then either of them. Padding into the clearing, she joins Rainpaw and Sablepaw.** Hello you guys! **She meows enthusiasticly. Turning to Sablepaw she adds.** I'm Mosspaw from Windclan. Is this yuor first gathering?

*With a bright, curious gaze Rainpaw watched the cats gather -- another ShadowClan cat, and the other WindClan cats were coming down the slope behind him. The tom apprentice raised his paw and ran his rough tongue over it, then swiped his ear. Suddenly, he paused, cocking his head. There! He was certain of it this time. That scent was definitely ThunderClan. Guessing the direction the forest-dwelling cats would come from, he turned his head, and purred in satisfaction as he saw the first representatives of ThunderClan bounding down into the hollow. He spotted the leading cat, and guessed she was the leader; he had no way of knowing that she was merely the Deputy, for he had not yet been taught much about the other Clans. A few younger cats were bounding down behind her. Maybe I should go talk to them. They look friendly enough... The apprentice was interrupted, however, by the approach of Sablepaw.*
Hi. You're from WindClan, right? I'm Sablepaw of ShadowClan.
*The tortoiseshell-and-white apprentice turned his amber gaze on the sleek dark she-cat as he replied, observing her in a friendly manner as he did so.* Yup, I'm the newest apprentice, Rainpaw. It's great to meet you, Sablepaw. You're the first cat I've ever met from another Clan.
Hello you guys!
*Shifting his weight comfortably to his haunches, Rainpaw glanced behind him. He had caught Mosspaw's scent just before she had spoken.*
I'm Mosspaw from Windclan. Is this your first gathering?
Well, it's my first! I'm glad Kempfur let me come. I didn't think he would, since... *The newly-named apprentice trailed off, feeling the heat rise beneath his fur. He had almost given away the depleted state of his Clan! The young apprentice, embarrassed, quickly spoke up to cover his mistake.* Well, you know, since I was just named so recently and all. *Mentally cursing his wagging tongue, Rainpaw shrugging his shoulders uncomfortably as if throwing off his ill-chosen words.
Two of the younger cats that the WindClan apprentice had spotted were the two brother apprentices Jaypaw and Duskpaw. Jaypaw was the more powerful of the two, broad-shouldered and muscular. Sinew and tissue rippled beneath his thin black-and-white coat, and his icy blue gaze was quick and fire-lit. Duskpaw, in stark contrast to his sibling, still retained some of his kithood pudginess. He had a round, friendly face, and his dusky-grey fur was long and flowing. As the two trotted down behind the ThunderClan Deputy, Jaypaw outstripped his brother, bounding forward right on Lionclaw's tails. He trotted after her for a few paces, before realizing she was going to greet the other leaders and deputies. Not wanting to interrupt, the tom apprentice circled around and padded back to his awestruck brother.* Hey, Duskpaw, wanna find some more apprentices? Those three over there look like talkative.
Yeah, sure. *Duskpaw shook his grey head, blinking his amber eyes to clear away the remnants of his dreamlike attitude. The grandness of Fourtrees had stunned him temporarily, taking his breath away; now he looked around the hollow again, seeking out recognizable shapes. Lionclaw was speaking to a snowy she-cat and a WindClan tom; he assumed they were important cats, by the way they carried themselves. He didn't recognize any other cats, but the group of apprentices his brother had pointed out carried the scents of ShadowClan and WindClan.* Let's go say hello.
*Jaypaw nodded briskly and trotted quickly towards the three apprentices; Duskpaw followed a few pawsteps behind. The two ThunderClan toms padded up, mewing greetings, and took a seat. Duskpaw spoke up first, blinking his amber eyes in a friendly manner.* Hello! I'm Duskpaw, and this is my brother Jaypaw. *He flicked his tail towards the powerful young cat beside him.* We're ThunderClan apprentices.

*Two other apprentices, Riggatpaw and Treepaw are following the shadowclan leader. Side by side the two cats pad down the hill, their thin bodies going in and out of sight. They arrive at the bottom of hill and sit down, not recognizing anybody.*

**Seeing the younger apprentice's embarrassment, Mosspaw bends down to him and whispers, making sure that no one else can hear her tells him.** It's O.k, we all make mistakes, besides I don't think Sablepaw noticed to much. Hello! I'm Duskpaw, and this is my brother Jaypaw. **Mosspaw turns around to see the two apprentices. She looks them both over, surprised at how different they look, one being rather chubby while the other is lithe and sinewy. After a bit, she introduces herself and her neighbor.** Hello! I'm mosspaw and this is Rainpaw, were both from Windclan. **Scenting that the two cats are from Thunderclan, she adds.** So, how is Thunderclan doing? **Shadowclan scent drifts twords Mosspaw. Turning to see where it is coming from, she spots Riggatpaw and Treepaw. Seeing that they are alone, she motions them over with her tail, still paying attention to the four other apprentices.**

*Kempfur shook his head at Lionclaw.* It is not Kempstar yet, my friend. I am afraid the famine preoccupied myself and my medicine cat; I had no time to visit the Moonstone, however close it is.*He sighed inwardly, gazing across the grassy expanse.*RiverClan is not yet here. I wonder how they fared? The river didn't seem depleted of fish.
*Snowstar snorted.* They probably fared the best there, Kempfur. As would ShadowClan, if the marshes hadn't dried up come greenleaf last season.*She shivered as a cold wind nipped at her thin coat. She hated being presented like this to the other leaders; they could take advantage of her, now.*
*Torclaw came in shortly after her deputy. Squirrelstar had taken off sick; she worried it was greencough or whitecough. If it was, they were in for a horrible newleaf. The black she-cat made to sit by Dawnheart and see how WindClan--led by her old friend Kempfur--was, but got destracted by Snowstar. She must have fared the worst--the marshes weren't known for being kind during droughts. At some point, Torclaw made it to the medicine cat and mewed a greeting.* Hello there, Dawnheart. How did WindCLan survive leafbare? Better than ThunderClan, I hope.

*Goldenheart rallies up the chosen cats in Whisperstar's stead and leads them to Fourtrees. The bright full moon transforms her pelt into silver as she heads through their territory. Her head is held high. As they near the four great oaks, she parts her jaws, noting that all clans have arrived but their own. Well, no longer, RiverClan is here now. Proudly, she pads down the slope to the bushes, which she squeezes through gracefully. Within, behind her turtle-like shell of armor consisting of practice, lurks a worry for her leader. She hasn't heard from her for quite some time. She only hopes she is well. Gazing around, she sighs, tail twitching as her Clan disperses. She sees the other deputies and leaders and trots over to greet them.*
*Strikepaw follows after the others, her tail twitching in excitement. Her blue eyes flash brightly in the night as she gazes and speculates at all of the gathered cats. Her ears flick, and she sees Jaypaw and Duskpaw going over to a group of apprentices. She parts her jaws and scents ShadowClan and WindClan. Eagerly, she bounds over, her eyes bright. She waits until the brothers have introduced themselves.* Hello! I'm Strikepaw from ThunderClan as well. *Her voice is warm and friendly, as are her inquisitive eyes. Paws shift nervously, tail twitches fidgetingly, and her claws knead the ground. But all in all, she looks ready for anything, white and black pelt appearing as though a storm were brewing right in it.*
OOC: Sorry I took so long, RiverClan!

Post by Crystalpaw/Mortpaw/Tabbypaw on Mar 18, 2007 15:15:46 GMT -5
**Thin, sleek cilver paws lead her way over the small hill that overlooked Thunder's corner of land. Crystalpaw's tail was downward, being so close to so many other members of other clans made her slightly jumpy, since, even if they couldn't fight, the Clans still seemed to dislike one another. Her black fur rippled as a small breeze swept over her, it's playful breath making her cold to the bone. She liked going to Gatherings, but she would rather be out hunting in the afternoon sun or taking a stroll around the outside of ThunderClan's camp at night, where the trees we so dense the wind hardly chilled her. Her emerald gaze lifted from where she was watching her paws, and she looked over Lionclaw's shoulder. Apart from her brother, Lionclaw as her best friend, as well as her mentor.
The small cat mewed softly before starting a leaping run, much like the run of a rabbit. She slowed quickly, her paws tenseing as she watched Lionclaw walk over to the other higher cats. She padded over to a cat and sat down. Her brother, sadly, hadn't came to the Gathering. He had stayed to watch the camp. Also, they had been out late the night before, and Mortpaw had been out a long time today, he was tired. He had stayed behind, leaving Crystalpaw to her first gathering without him. She looked over at the cat and smiled slightly. She had seen the cat a few times when she had to Patrol ThunderClan's borders. It was Tabbypaw, a calico kitten, hardly more than a kit. She looked around and aw no other cat she could recall other than Lionclaw.
Another cat sat close by. She breathed in and noticed he, oddly, smelled of ThunderClan. She mewed softly to Duskpaw, eyeing Jaypaw as well.** Your of ThunderClan? Odd, haven't seen you around much. <ight be because I'm not much in camp. **The silver and gray kitten grinned, a sharp fang showing.** I hope your well.
